Creator Outreach
An AI specialist agent that finds creators who actually fit your product, scores the fit honestly, and drafts personalised first-contact messages in your voice. Zero auto-send — every outreach waits for your one-click approval.
Sample briefing
"4 creators shortlisted this week. @alice (strong fit, 4.3/5): hook on her SQLite teardown thread — draft DM uses her own framing about "databases that respect your latency budget"; one ask, one opt-out, no flattery preamble. @bob (medium fit, 3.1/5): writes about indie launch math but his audience skews B2C; suggest skip. Two more in the briefing with full evidence."
What Creator Outreach does
- Discovers candidate creators on X, YouTube, and Substack who post about your category
- Scores fit honestly on three axes — audience match, content overlap, follower-to-engagement ratio
- Reads each creator's last 50–100 posts to derive a personalised hook (not 'loved your content!')
- Drafts a first-contact DM in your voice — one hook, one ask, one opt-out line, no flattery preamble
- Filters out anti-pattern creators — engagement-bought accounts, mismatched audience, recent paid promo fatigue
- Maintains a per-tenant 'do not contact' list — creators you've already reached, declined, or marked off-fit
- Records every outreach + reply in the per-tenant memory so the role doesn't repeat itself months later
How it works
Most creator-outreach tools are databases of contact info plus a mail-merge engine. That model produces what you'd expect: high volume, low reply rate, creators who can spot a templated DM from the first sentence. Creator Outreach inverts the funnel — small candidate set, deep personalisation, draft-only delivery, your judgment on whether to send at all.
Discovery starts from your product, not from a follower-count threshold. You give the role 2–3 example creators who already fit (or who you wish would post about you). It uses their content + audience signature as the seed and surfaces candidates whose post topics, vocabulary, and audience composition pattern-match. A creator with 8k followers who actually writes about your category outperforms a 50k-follower account whose audience won't convert.
The fit score has three components. (1) Audience match — does the creator's follower base contain the personas you sell to. (2) Content overlap — does the creator regularly post about problems your product solves, in language your buyers use. (3) Engagement quality — comments-to-likes ratio, reply depth, repeat commenter rate. We surface the score breakdown, not just a single number, so you can decide which axis matters for your campaign.
Drafts use real evidence from the creator's posts. The role reads each candidate's recent posts and finds a specific hook — a thread they wrote, a complaint they raised, a build they shipped. The DM references that specific thing. No "I love your content"; no "thought this might interest you." If the role can't find a real hook, it surfaces the candidate as "low signal" and recommends skip rather than ship a generic DM. Generic DMs train creators to filter your handle.
What Creator Outreach does not do
- Auto-send DMs or emails — every outreach is delivered to your IM as a draft for review
- Negotiate sponsorship rates or terms (that's your conversation, not ours)
- Buy follower or engagement data from sketchy resellers — discovery is from public posts only
- Mass-DM accounts based on follower-count alone (that's spam; we don't ship it)
- Track campaign ROI back to creator-driven conversions (you'd need a UTM + revenue attribution layer for that)
FAQ
- Can Ceres handle creator outreach for an indie SaaS?
- Yes. Ceres's Creator Outreach agent finds creators who fit your product on X, YouTube, and Substack, scores the fit honestly on audience match, content overlap, and engagement quality, and drafts a personalised first-contact DM in your voice — one real hook from the creator's own posts, one ask, one opt-out. Every message waits for your one-click approval; nothing auto-sends.
- Will this just spam DMs to a list of creators?
- No. The default discovery cap is small (5–10 candidates per week), every DM waits for your approval, and the role refuses to draft when it can't find a real hook from the creator's actual posts. Mass templated DMs train creators to filter your handle — we deliberately disallow the volume play.
- How does it find creators in my niche?
- You seed it with 2–3 example creators who already fit. The role uses their content patterns + audience composition as the discovery signature. It also pulls candidates from creators who engaged with your seed creators' posts, since those are likely peer-tier accounts in the same conversation.
- Does it work for YouTube / Substack / podcasts, or just X?
- X is the primary surface in Phase 1 — that's where the conversation density + replies create the cleanest signals. YouTube and Substack are supported with reduced fidelity (less granular post data); podcast outreach is on the roadmap but requires a different discovery substrate (we're working on it).
- How is this different from Modash, Upfluence, or other creator-discovery tools?
- Modash / Upfluence / Aspire are databases — large catalogues of creators with filterable demographics. Creator Outreach is a search + writing role: smaller, more targeted candidate pool driven by your seeds, with the personalised draft as the primary output. The two layers can complement: use a database for breadth, use this role to write the message that actually gets a reply.
- What if a creator says no, or doesn't reply?
- Both responses get logged in the per-tenant memory. A 'no' moves them to the do-not-contact list permanently. A non-reply waits 14 days, then the role suggests one follow-up draft (or marks them dormant if the original DM was already a stretch). The role won't re-pitch the same creator a third time without your explicit instruction.
